JOB DESCRIPTION: Tompkins Cortland Community College seeks a dynamic and engaging full-time tenure track faculty member with a focus on student success and retention. JOB DESCRIPTION: The Career Navigator is a passionate and resourceful advocate for students and actively leads and contributes to further improve graduation, retention rates, and career placement of students and alums at Tompkins Cortland Community College, with a special focus on supporting students participating in the Increasing Tourism Career Pathways initiative through the Appalachian Regional Commission.
The Career Navigator manages a caseload of students by providing academic, career, and personal support and will work closely with participating regional employers sponsoring the students in this program. The position will support students both on campus and onsite at partner employers, with the majority of time spent in the field.
The Career Navigator will support and advise students through the program and provide guidance for students to continue on a career path in the tourism industry. This position reports to the Director of Workforce Development and Continuing Education and collaborates closely with all members of the Workforce Development Career team, Student Services, as well as members of faculty and Academic Affairs, Enrollment Management, and regional employers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree with a background in secondary education, higher education administration, employer relations, direct client support, social work, counseling, or special education is required. A demonstrated sensitivity to understanding the needs and concerns of a diverse student population--including legal system-involved populations, first-generation college students, adult students, and underrepresented populations--is essential to the hired candidate’s success. One to three years of professional experience in a direct support role in advising, coaching, counseling, teaching, or consulting. Excellent oral and written communication and strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to develop interpersonal and organizational relationships. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite. Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-focused, detail-oriented environment. Excellent leadership and teamwork skills with the ability to work independently, determine priorities, and meet multiple deadlines. Willingness to travel regionally.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in Student Affairs Administration, Higher Education Leadership, or related degree program. Demonstrated professional experience in a higher education setting focusing on student success and/or advising. Proven experience leading collaborative efforts between multiple constituencies, including faculty, staff, students, and local community members. Understanding of student career development and employer relations best practices. Knowledge of student information systems, such as Slate and Brightspace, and familiarity with online career platforms such as Handshake.

This work will be driven by the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of a comprehensive and vigorous strategic enrollment management plan. In addition, this position collaborates closely with the Provost’s Office on the Global Initiatives program to ensure that recruitment strategies maximize student outcomes and advance the goals of the College.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Special Education, Counseling, Education, Human Services, Social Work; minimum of two years’ experience providing support services to students with disabilities (preferably in higher education); working knowledge of the amended Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the amended Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, and other appropriate laws pertaining to higher education; and ability to determine appropriate disability-related academic adjustments and auxiliary aids and services. One year of supervisory experience.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in Postsecondary Disability Services, Rehabilitation Counseling, Special Education, Counseling, Education, content or related field; four or more years’ experience providing support services to students with disabilities in higher education. Familiarity with the social justice model for accessibility; 3 or more years’ supervisory experience, especially in a higher education setting.
EXPECTED HIRING SALARY RANGE: $61,480-$92,221 Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. JOB DESCRIPTION: Provides leadership and supervision for all operational aspects of the library’s service desk, course reserves, electronic reserves, interlibrary loan, purchase-on-demand, video-on-demand and document delivery services. Responsible for setting the standard for service desk services in the Baker Commons Library. Plans, coordinates, develops, interprets, and implements policies and procedures for all information delivery services. Coordinates the monitoring of all chat, text, phone, email, and in-person communications that take place at the Service Desk and routes questions to appropriate staff members. Coordinates the delivery of information resources to all distance populations including Concurrent Enrollment, extension center, global, and community members. Participates in the cataloging and processing of physical and electronically received materials. Maintains close communication with faculty to promote library services and identify information resource needs. Compiles statistics and generates reports on the use of the physical collection, interlibrary loan and document delivery services. Utilizes and troubleshoots the variety of software used in the department.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Director of Facilities (DOF) reports to the Vice President of Finance and Administration (VPFA) and is responsible for providing general administration, supervision, and professional direction for College and Affiliated Enterprise facilities and property management functions, including capital planning, space administration, utilities management, facilities maintenance, sustainability, new capital construction and renovations, landscape, and other physical plant maintenance services. The DOF assists the VP in the formulation of campus policies and confidential contract discussions related to property management and capital projects.
This position is within the Professional Administrators Union. Candidates must currently reside or be willing to relocate to New York State at time of employment. Additionally, maintaining New York State residency will be required for the duration of employment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Facilities Engineering, Project Management, Business Management, Construction Management, or related field. Eight (8) to ten (10) years of progressively responsible work experience in facility/physical plant management, of which at least three (3) years within a supervisory capacity. Working knowledge of principles and practices of project management. Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management. Knowledge of State, federal, and environmental regulations. Ability to independently coordinate efforts involving several departments. Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Strong planning and organizational skills. Demonstrated problem-solving ability, using good judgment, critical decision-making, and strong negotiation skills. Extensive experience in facilities maintenance or equivalent related functions.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of budgeting, financial management, and procurement bidding processes, preferably in a public organization. Proven expertise in project management and process re-engineering. Significant experience managing projects, including large projects of up to two years duration.
EXPECTED HIRING SALARY RANGE: $81,023-$121,534 Salary subject to change pending outcome of Professional Administrators Association negotiations. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
